Marvin Sapp explains what happened

Marvin Sapp recently asked his congregation to come up with 40 thousand dollars in the church and on livestream ,with a crowd of about 2000 in the church ,Marvin Sapp trapped his flock inside the church and demanded they meet the offering amount of 40 thousand dollars. He actually told ushers to close the doors while he collected the money .Many online are saying that was a un god like act that he did and are mocking his song Never would have made it with Never would have paid it .Sapp goes on to say “Those unfamiliar with the church context or who may not regularly attend church worship gatherings this has been mis interpretated as holding people hostage as well as offensive ,that was never my intent Sapp said .He also went on to say donating money in a church setting is often vulnerable time for folk and often risky. Some would say the church would be one of the better places to exchange money without the worry of anything happening that would compromise the safety of the congregation
