NBA Veteran Lonnie Walker is making his NBA return as he has reached a 2-year, $3.7M deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Walker broke the news to his friends, family, and fans via social media.

“Got the call at 10 pm. 2 hours before my clause ended. Still processing it all but truly blessed, humbled, and excited for this next chapter AGTG!” Walker posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Walker has previously played for Zalgiris Kaunas in the Euroleague this season and had an NBA-out in his deal. Walker is now entering his seventh NBA season after attending training camp with the Boston Celtics in October.

Walker spent the first four years of his career with the San Antonio Spurs after being selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

Lonnie’s last stint in the NBA came with the Brooklyn Nets as he averaged nearly 10 points and 38.4% shooting from 3-point range in 17.4 minutes per game last season.

Walker will provide the 76ers with some additional much needed athleticism and scoring on the wings — both of which could be useful for a Philadelphia team that enters the stretch run ranked 22nd in offensive rating, according to ESPN.

The 76ers sit 11th in the Eastern conference, trailing 1.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls. Their next game will be tomorrow (Feb. 20th) at the Wells Fargo Center against the defending NBA Champion, Boston Celtics.
